Artistic Director/Founder and Choreographer
Alphonso Walker Jr.
Beaux Production Co. is dedicated to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in the
performing arts while upholding the preservation of classic works and fostering the creation of
new, innovative productions. Based in Ft. Lauderdale, our mission is to expand theatrical
opportunities in the local community and beyond. Ultimately, we aspire to establish our own
small venue that not only showcases compelling performances but also provides space for young
students to immerse themselves in the study of theatre arts, ensuring a vibrant and inclusive
future for the next generation of performers and creators.

Alphonso Walker Jr. is a dynamic force in the world of performing arts, his journey
marked by a passionate dedication to dance, theater, and storytelling. Graduating from Florida
Atlantic University with a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Theatre Performance and a Minor in Dance,
Alphonso's foundation in the arts was solidified through a diverse range of experiences and
mentors.
Specializing in Musical Theatre and Dance, Alphonso firmly believes that dancing is an
accessible joy for all. His training spans various forms of dance, including Jazz, Ballet, and Tap.
His commitment to honing his craft took him to the heart of the dance world, spending
transformative summers studying in New York City. Under the tutelage of luminaries such as
Kat Wildish, Dudley Williams, and the legendary Luigi, Alphonso absorbed invaluable lessons that
would shape his artistic journey.
During his time at Florida Atlantic University, Alphonso showcased his talent in
productions like Cabaret and Beauty and the Beast, leaving an indelible mark as both a performer
and a choreographer. His first professional engagement with Jubilee Dance Theatre in Ft.
Lauderdale solidified his path as a professional dancer, under the guidance of Artistic Director
Lu Welters.
Alphonso's foray into the spotlight extended beyond the stage when he became a
semifinalist on FOX’s So You Think You Can Dance. Although his journey on the show didn't
culminate in a trip to Vegas, it reinforced his resilience and determination to pursue his passion.
Returning to the stage, he brought characters to life in productions like The Classical Theatre of
Harlem’s Romeo and Juliet, Westside Story, Footloose, Jesus Christ Superstar, and Rent,
showcasing his versatility and stage presence.
However, Alphonso's creative spirit knows no bounds. While he thrives in performance,
his love for storytelling propelled him into producing, directing, and choreographing. From his
teenage years onward, he embarked on a journey of creation, bringing to life a diverse array of
productions including For Colored Girls..., The Importance of Being Earnest, Once On This
Island, Joe Turner’s Come and Gone, A Christmas Carol, and his original Musical Review,
Wonderous.
Looking towards the future, Alphonso's ambitions soar even higher. With a vision to
enrich the cultural landscape, he plans to launch his own dance company, Ritmo (Rhythm)
Dance Theatre, where his passion for dance, theater, and storytelling will converge to inspire and captivate audiences around the world.
